Overview
Garmin has announced Public Beta 31.23 for the Edge 540, Edge 840, and Edge 1040 cycling computers. This release is currently in pre-rollout status — the forum thread is published but the update has not started distributing to beta users yet.

How to Install Beta 31.23
Once the rollout begins, enrolled beta users can install via:
- Enrollment in the Public Beta Program
- A configured Wi-Fi network on the Edge device
- Navigate to Main Menu > System > About > Check For Updates
- Select Software Update 31.23 to install after downloading
If the device shows "Collecting diagnostics...", Garmin asks users to go to:
- Menu > System > Diagnostics > Upload RAM Dump
Should You Wait?
